Maggie Rogers
MAggie-the-travel-walletI have been a travel agent for nearly 50 years, not sure where all the years have gone but I obviously enjoy what I do! I picked the keys up for The Travelwallet on 02/02/2002 so a very memorable date in more than one way.

I travel to Canada as often as possible to increase my knowledge of this amazing destination with the added benefit of loving everywhere I visit!

I tailor make some fabulous adventures for our clients including cities to the great outdoors going in search of Whales or Bears. A destination very close to my heart.

I have travelled extensively over this time visiting most parts of the World and we are fortunate to be taken on FAMs where you are taken to a destination and spend the whole time visiting the attractions, hotels and experiencing first hand what you can then offer our clients.

I have done some amazing things on my travels, sailing around Sydney Harbour before flying over it in a Helicopter, swimming with Manta Rays in the Maldives off the side of the luxury Four Seasons Catamaran, Explorer. On the theme of helicopters I have flown over The Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls.

I also visited South America for the first time and fell in love with Ecuador, such a fabulous place, the stunning beauty of the Andes, we went right into the heart of the Amazon, a 2 hour boat trip, followed by a 40 minute hike through the rain forest before getting in to canoes and paddling a further 30 mins before arriving at Sacha Lodge where we saw a massive array of

Cycle around Washington, go shopping in New York & Los Angeles, visit Alcatraz in San Francisco, have lunch at the top of the space needle in Seattle, sail in Chesapeake Bay.

I had an amazing stay at Triple Creek Ranch in cowboy holidays

South Africa is a great destination, Cape Town is a lovely city, visiting Robben Island, Cape Point, wine tasting and a must do when in Africa stay in one of the luxurious Game Reserves.

I love the Far East, such a mixture of exotic and chaotic! I have visited bustling Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, as well as stunning landscapes and cities of Japan, including Tokyo.

Also travelling to the exotic resorts of Tangjun Jara, Pangkor Laut and visited the tea plantations in the Cameron Highlands, also enjoying some fabulous beaches in Thailand.

I have a real fondness for Greece a place I have travelled to many times. Italy is so diverse with so much to offer, I just love the food and the pace of life there. I have travelled quite a lot around the whole of Europe including Spain, Italy, Austria, Croatia, Turkey and Egypt, the short flights are quite nice at times. I have also been on a couple of Cruises which I enjoyed and I would like to experience more of this form of travel and would love to go on a River Cruise as they are something we area booking more of all the time.

I am the Wedding Specialist in the office and work very hard to ensure my Bride’s & Groom’s special day is all they have dreamed of. I also book many honeymoons and work on the same ethos. As you can see I just love travelling and after all these years I still get a real buzz from finding my clients the right holiday.

Travelling to different destinations was always of great excitement when I was a child, stepping on the plane was just the start of it and I couldn’t wait to get my toes in the sand at the other end! Many years on and I still feel the same excitement and I guess that’s why I am so fond of the Indian Ocean, Mauritius, Maldives and the Seychelles, plus the Caribbean. My first ever educational was to Mauritius many years ago and this is when my love for luxury long haul pristine beach holidays began.

I specialise in The Indian Ocean and the Middle East, the Maldives being my all-time favourite destination, followed by Dubai which is the complete opposite end of the scale to the Maldives. I have been lucky enough to have visited the Maldives on 6 different occasions, where still it takes my breath away when flying over all the Atolls and islands on the Sea Plane.

Dubai follows in a close second to The Maldives for me – So diverse and ever changing. This is where you go for guaranteed luxury, service and sunshine, right up my street! I have also travelled to many European destinations, Ibiza Town being one of my favourites, as well as various city breaks, the Italian ones I particularly love, Venice being top of my list. Finally, the Caribbean, another fabulous part of the world with beautiful beaches and laid back lifestyle –

I have visited Antigua, St Lucia, Mustique and Barbados. Mustique is my absolute favourite so far and think everyone should visit this tiny bit of exclusive paradise once in their life time! Words can’t explain the breath taking views from Princess Margaret’s House and many other locations on this heavenly Island, not forgetting a Rum punch at Basil’s Bar!

Hopefully I will get to see more of the Caribbean along with other parts of the big wide world in years to come, but in the meantime I will continue to share my knowledge and passion for the fabulous destinations I have experienced when researching holidays for our clients.

I fell in love with Cuba, such a vibrant amazing place – like stepping back in time, we had cocktails in Hemmingway’s bar, took a ride around Havana in as old classic car, and of course sampled the local rum whilst watching cigars being rolled by the locals.

I have been to Florida many times, staying in villas and hotels in the Orlando area to make the most of the thrilling theme parks and attractions, and then venturing down to the Clearwater coast which is great place to relax and unwind after all the excitement of Orlando.

We have had many family holidays in Europe and are lucky enough to have a holiday home in Menorca, so I know the island extremely well from the best beaches to hidden gems of local restaurants and bars.

I have always had a passion for travel and years of experience booking cruise holidays with many different cruise lines around the world.

I thoroughly enjoy what I do and make it my mission to find the perfect holiday for clients. After all these years I wouldn’t know how to do anything else.

It’s lovely that I have come full circle by joining The Travelwallet team. I worked with Maggie over 20 years ago at World Wallet Travel.

Over my 30+ years’ experience of working in the travel industry, I have been very lucky to travel to some truly wonderful places, top of my list would have to be Florida with its wonderful attractions, shopping and once in a lifetime experiences. I had the pleasure of staying in one of Universal’s Hotels Cabana Bay which I would return to in a heartbeat, as they are packed with excitement, joy and not to mention all the wonderful facilities. The Location to all their attractions could not be any better!!

I am also very fond of city breaks and the great outdoors for me Rome stands out as one of my absolute favourites due to its overwhelming historical sites, from the Vatican to the Colosseum the city serves as a cauldron of awe-inspiring monuments and buildings sophisticated atmosphere and delicious cuisine.

As a family we have travelled to many European places with the Canaries being a highlight due to their year-round sunshine and welcoming nature. I cannot begin to count how many times I have visited these islands; I can guarantee they deliver on weather, beaches, entertainment, and food a great escape any month of the year, I have also had the pleasure of visiting many Greek Islands, Turkey and Cyprus again visiting many historical sites, wonderful beaches on these wonderful getaways.

Most recently I have been to Switzerland visiting the Jungfroujoch: The Top of Europe this offers views that will make your jaw drop, this is the best place to see the magnificent Aletsch Glacier. It was very special indeed. I have also been to Grindelwald and Interlaken these are fairytale -like villages offering a truly idyllic location creating wonderful memories, I hope to return to Switzerland again.

I have experienced the total joy of going on a Cruise in the past I have Cruised with Carnival and NCL, more recently on Royal Caribbean (Anthem of the Seas) how wonderful to travel to different destinations on one holiday along with wonderful food, entertainment, and fantastic onboard facilities. I had breakfast every morning delivered to my cabin, now that can’t be bad, a lovely way to start my day. I Cruised out of New York it was really something to see that iconic skyline disappear as we stretched further out to sea, with a tall glass of fizz in hand. Cruising is a passion of mine and most definitely I will be doing more of.

Over the years have loved winter sports, I have skied in Mayrhofen,(Austria), Sierra Nevada (Spain), Val d-Isere/Tignes (France). Also, another destination that stands out was Finland to the Arctic Circle experiencing Skidooing,Reindeer rides, sledging, Ice fishing along with the outdoor thermal baths. These are memories I will cherish forever.

I look forward to many more destinations, creating lifelong memories and sharing my knowledge with our wonderful clients whilst planning their next adventure.

Happy Holidays!!!
