One&Only Reethi Rah is blessed to feature amazing sea life on our ‘doorstep’, but on a recent Turtle Adventure trip our usual light-hearted journey turned into a serious rescue mission. Approaching a turtle that was floating not far from shore, it’s failure to dive suggested something may be wrong. Our Excursion Team and Marine Biologist pulled the turtle onto the boat, only to discover it was an Olive Ridley turtle, missing its front right limb. We were able to give this poor creature medical attention, but sadly, due to man-made hazards, others are not so lucky. That’s why we are proud supporters of the Oliver Ridley Project, an organisation that works to reduce the threat of ghost nets in the Indian Ocean
