There Is So Much To See And Do In Budapest

I have just returned from a 3 night 4 day city break to Budapest. On arrival we had a private half hour taxi transfer that took us to our accommodation. The Trendy Deluxe Apartment’s. The accommodation was in a fantastic location on the Pest side of the River Danube.

The apartment had everything you could possibly need dish washer, fridge freezer, washing machine lovely big balcony. Budapest city is divided into two parts by the River Danube, Buda and Pest. Buda is the old part of the city. There is funicular rail way that takes you up Gilbert Hill and from there the views of the Danube and the city were fantastic. We then looked around Buda Castle and the Fisherman’s Bastion, again with stunning views of Parliament Building. The Buda side of the river is much quieter and relaxing.

The next day we got on a river boat along the Danube, this only cost around £5.00 and is valid for 24 hours. In the middle of the river is Margaret Island we got off the boat  and wondered around the beautiful gardens, including  the Japanese garden . We made the most of our pass and returned on the evening to cruise again. This is a must as the illuminations are breath-taking  especially the Parliament Building.

The nightlife in Budapest is lively especially on the Pest side with lots of quirky bars and restaurants. There was great entertainment by Hungarian dancers in one bar. The traditional dish is Hungarian Goulash very delightful.

I would really recommend Budapest as a wonderful city to visit and there was so much to do I wished I had stayed longer.

I will definitely go back again.
