Well I have to say my opinion of Fred Olsen cruises has changed completely.
I boarded mid afternoon and disembarked after breakfast the next day. So long enough to experience some of the things on offer, sample the food & drinks, plus the entertainment.
There were no actual guests on board just trade partners from around the U.K.
Different cabin types were open on each deck, so we could actually see what they are like. I started at the bottom deck and worked my way up. I managed to look at all the different cabin types. Some are more traditional maroon colour scheme, whilst there are also cabins in a more modern blue lighter colour scheme.
The cabins were all a good size, more so than some of the mega ships where they fit more cabins into the space available.
We started off with high tea, which was OK, nothing special, as some of the bread was a little dry on one side. But a nice treat in the afternoon with a pot of tea and if course a glass of fizz!
On the other hand, the food at dinner time was absolutely delicious, a very varied menu. The service was excellent, very friendly staff from all over the world.
The entertainment was also enjoyable and professional.
The itineraries are varied and because the ships are smaller, they can access more ports
A very interesting visit indeed …
